Guinea Pig Feeding Hay

In particular, our Timothy hay and Meadow Hay are big hits with small animals, made with natural ingredients and high in fibre. It’s not advisable to buy straw for guinea pigs as it is too coarse and could damage their delicate eyes. Furthermore, the wrong bedding for your guinea pigs can harm their health. Wood shavings, sawdust, and straw can often contain mites and cause fungal and manage conditions. We’d recommend purchasing our high-quality guinea pig bedding that is soft on little paws and easy to clean, and lining your piggies’ enclosure with a thick layer of newspaper.

Ensuring that you store your guinea pig hay correctly is vital for keeping it fresh and appealing for your guineas. Improperly stored hay could become damp and mouldy, which can be unappetising and also harmful if eaten. We recommend keeping your hay in a dry, cool space, away from direct sunlight.
